I am officially on vacation! Finished all my exams, completed everything for this semester. I’ve been looking forward to this day since our finals week started. It has been a grueling semester, what with Evidence and Tax and Civil Procedure — but i’m pretty sure my last semesters will be more grueling. Now i find myself doing nothing. Which isn’t such a bad thing, but my brain is looking for books to read, can you believe that?

Anyway, i’m really looking forward to this vacation because I’m going on a trip to Kuala Lumpur with friends. We’re staying there for 5 days and we have already plotted our itinerary. This is the first real vacation i’ll be having in years. The last time i went out of the country was with my family when i was in college, when we went to Hong Kong and China. This past summer my brother and i planned on going to Japan but we had to catch up with our units so we enrolled in summer classes instead.

I’ve already bought most of the things i’ll be bringing, just need to buy a couple more. Damn, i can’t recall when i’ve been this excited! I’m pretty sure it ’s because: 1) i’m going out of the country, and 2) it will be with friends, no parents lol. Well, i’m going with a very good friend R, and she invited her friend T whom i’ve never met. But that’s okay, the more the merrier right?

I am, however, afraid that my expectations on this trip is so high that i might get disappointed somehow lol. But i can’t help myself, my friend and i have been planning this since last year (or was that the year before?) with some of our Beda Law friends. But since school takes up so much time, we haven’t pushed through with it until now. And even though M and M couldn’t make it, we decided early on that we will go with our trip even if it’s just the two of us. Which, funnily enough, made us think who’ll take our pictures.

Another worry is that this trip will have bad consequences for my grades in school. It’s superstitous and probably non-sensical but i kinda think that in exchange for this trip, i might flunk my subjects, which i really pray to God won’t happen. Funnily enough i’m not alone in this thinking, this is R’s worry too. Maybe we’re just a bunch of superstitous law students, because we can’t seem to enjoy our vacation, for fear of  flunking our subjects. As if having fun is in any way connecting with it.

Ahh… just think, this time next week i’ll be in another country, enjoying it’s sights, sounds, and flavors. I’ll be seeing you, Kuala Lumpur!
